Introvert or Extrovert?

absoluticris:

im curious to see how many we have of each here.

especially the people i follow cause its near impossible at times to tell over a blog.

heres a great article on 5 things extroverts should know about introverts. i found that #2 (below) is spot on as is the rest of the article. i am a introvert and i really hate small talk and usually find it pointless.

2. Introverts tend to dislike small talk.

If you really want to engage an introvert in conversation, skip the small talk. Introverts tend to love deep conversations on subjects that interest them. They love to debate, go past the superficial and poke around the depths in people’s minds to see what’s really going on in there. Most, if not all introverts tend to regard small talk as a waste of time, unless it’s with someone new they just met.

This characteristic probably contributes to another misconception that extroverts have of introverts - the misconception that all introverts are arrogant.

Why?

Because extroverts notice that introverts don’t talk that much with other people. Therefore, extroverts assume that introverts think they’re too good to talk to others, hence arrogant and that’s hardly the case.

It’s just a matter of preference.

Extroverts thrive on small talk.
Introverts abhor it.

There’s nothing wrong with either choice, it’s just a matter of preference.

5 Things Extroverts Should Know About Introverts

i still have some extroverted habits at times when it comes to parties, group settings or when i talk to someone that has mutual interests. the article fits who i am and i still remember taking a MBTI awhile back and scored ISTP which is a introvert with some extrovert tendencies. i tend to be a mute with small talk on a uncommon subject; and it annoys me when people ask a question they already know just to make small talk too. i enjoy meeting people and sometimes i can scare people off by going from “whats up” to “how do you see yourself in 5 years?” hahahaha

if you dont know which type you are, you can take the MBIT Test

so my question to you is, are you a extrovert or a introvert?
